Not to be confused with the section in The Lost Floors.
The Attic is a subfloor accessed from within The Lost Mines with different entities and layout that can be explored during gameplay.
Overview
The Attic entrance is hidden. First, you need to go to door 150 and defeat Figure. Once you do, you'll need to pull a hidden lever, which will open a door to the right of the large metal door, then follow the path and go up the stairs to reach a door marked "Attic". Once opened, a Death Screen will appear, but it will say "Continuing Run" instead of "Died to [Entity]". Once your Rose Gold Coins and Gold are cashed in, the game will load the sub-floor with a cutscene where Curious Light will open the door to The Attic. Entering The Attic for the first time will grant the players the "Another Floor?!" achievement.
The Attic contains its own cast of unique entities, with similar, yet different ways of attacking players compared to the entities that are found within The Lost Mines. Silver can be found throughout The Attic, as well as Timer Levers.
The Attic features a unique timer mechanic. Once players open the door to the right of room 50, they will be given one minute to complete the entire floor. The amount of time players will have to complete the floor can only be increased by players interacting with Timer Levers, which appear randomly throughout The Attic, and will add either 30 or 60 seconds depending on the time remaining when the lever spawns. The spawning room will always have a timer lever that adds 1 minute, that you need to activate to progress. The amount of time players have remaining can be seen above Timer Levers and on the front of each opened numbered door.
As players' remaining time decreases, the background music changes accordingly, becoming more intense and frantic. If players run out of time, Haste will spawn and begin chasing them, instantly killing any players it reaches. Haste will disappear immediately if players pull a Timer Lever before it succeeds in killing them.
The final door, 100, contains the Starlight Rift that contains the Starlight Crucifix, purchasable for 100 Rose Gold Coins; as well as a Timer Lever that adds 1 minute to the remaining time. The players will get the "Close One" achievement once they enter the room, which allows them to go to The Attic without needing to go through The Lost Mines. There is also a normal rift in the room, meaning the players can stock the Starlight Crucifix to test it in The Lost Mines.
Entities
Entities are unnatural beings that inhabit The Attic. Most of them pose as roadblocks and threats to hinder players’ progress and usually attempt to kill or damage them in whatever ways they can.
Unique Entities
Recal
Recal
General Information
Damage
Insta-Kill
Entity Type
Reversed Rusher
Recal is an hostile entity in The Lost Mines, appearing only in The Attic.
Appearance
Recal resembles a pixelated blue-gray skull with slightly glowing white eyes.
Behavior
Recal will make the lights flicker before launching his attack, appearing several rooms ahead of the last open room and rushing in the opposite direction of any rusher-type entities, killing any unhidden players on its way.
Notes
- Recal can appear in The Lost Mines if the Attic Madness modifier is enabled.
- Recal can be crucified.
- That makes Recal the only entity in The Attic that can be crucified alongside Rage.
Haste

General Information
Damage
Insta-Kill
Entity Type
Chaser
Haste is the main antagonist of The Attic subfloor, and an hostile entity of The Lost Mines.
Appearance
Haste takes on the appearance of a red human skull with black, hollow eyes and a grainy 'skin' texture. Its colors are similar to that of a spectrogram image.
Behavior
A Timer Lever that can be used to dispawn Haste if there is no time left.
Once the timer in The Attic reaches 0, Haste will highlight a player's screen with a red haze and begin to approach from behind, killing a player instantly if caught. If a Timer Lever is activated to increase the time during Haste's attack, it will immediately despawn. Do note that you can know how close Haste is to players by looking backwards, as you can see Haste through walls.
Non-Exclusive Entities
- Rage - Breaks the lights one by one, then rushes through the rooms, killing any players who aren't hiding. In The Attic, it doesn't break the lights, meaning that sound is the only way to detect its presence.
- Starlight - One of The Three Architects, acting as the death messenger of the subfloor.
- Void - Attacks players that are lagging too far back from the rest of the team when in multiplayer elevator.

Trivia
- The Attic is inspired from The Backdoor subfloor from DOORS, however the way to enter it is inspired by The Rooms subfloor.
- Additionally, where The Backdoor can be accessed via the Lobby if you don't lack the "Detour" achievement, The Attic can only be accessed mid-run via a secret passage at door 151 and doesn't require any achievements to enter.
- Upon entering The Attic, your inventory will be emptied. This may be a bug.
- If the player(s) purchased the Crucifix gamepass, a Crucifix will be given to the said player(s) upon entering The Attic.
- In multiplayer runs, dead group members who are still spectating will be automatically revived upon entering The Attic.
- Previously, the lever on the 100 door added 2 minutes, but now it only adds 1 minute.
- You can get into the Attic even if the modifiers are enabled, although they are automatically disabled upon entering the subfloor.
- It is impossible to enter The Attic in the Lobby if the player does not have the "Close One" achievement, as Red Light will block their way.
- When The Attic first released, there was a different cutscene where the player would pass out from exhaustion while climbing the stairs. This may imply that The Attic was just an hallucination and therfore wasn't canon until it got the new cutscene with Starlight.
- The Attic is getting a rework in a future update.
