It is an [item](/wiki/items) players may use to protect themselves from most hostile [entities](/wiki/entities).

## Usage

If an [entity](/wiki/entities) attempts to attack a player holding the crucifix, the item will levitate out of their hand and chain the entity to the ground. [Moonlight](/wiki/moonlight)'s symbol will appear on the floor, and a blue fog aura will quickly spin around, dragging the chained entity into the floor as it screams. This prevents all damage from the entity, neutralizing it until the next time it spawns, or when it breaks free. Entities of which the *crucifix* is used on can still spawn later in the run. If the Starlight Crucifix is used instead, the aura will be yellow and [Starlight](/wiki/starlight)'s symbol will replace Moonlight's.

The *crucifix* can even be used against boss entities, such as [Seek](/wiki/seek) and [Figure](/wiki/figure), but doing so will only stun the entity temporarily. When the chains produced by the *crucifix* begin to glow red, it is a sign that [Redlight](/wiki/redlight) is canceling the effects of the crucifix (shown by Moonlight's symbol being replaced by Redlight's spiral) and saving the entity from banishment.

The *crucifix* is a one-use item and will be removed from the player's inventory upon its usage, whether invalidated by Redlight or not.

## Related [Achievements](/wiki/achievements)

| **Image** | **Name** | **Quote** | **Description** |
| --- | --- | --- | --- |
| ![Get Back Demon](/wiki-img/Get_Back_Demon.webp) | Get Back, Demon! | Get wrecked. | Crucify an entity. |
| ![Give Me A Break](/wiki-img/Give_Me_A_Break.webp) | Give Me A Break! | Thank you, come again! | Crucify [Felk](/wiki/felk). |
| ![Crushed](/wiki-img/Crushed.webp) | Crushed | Didn't see that one coming, did you? | Crucify [Rush](/wiki/rush). |
| ![Speed Limit](/wiki-img/Speed_Limit.webp) | Exceeded The Speed Limit | You ain't catching me twice! | Crucify [Hunger](/wiki/hunger). |
| ![Cant Touch This](/wiki-img/Cant_Touch_This.webp) | Can't Touch This! | Leave me alone! | Crucify the [Hunt](/wiki/hunt). |
| ![Peek A BOOM](/wiki-img/Peek_A_BOOM.webp) | Peek-A-BOOM! | Not on my watch! | Crucify [Screech](/wiki/screech). |
| ![Crucifeyed](/wiki-img/Crucifeyed.webp) | Get Crucifeyed! | Take that, pal! | Crucify [Eyes](/wiki/eyes). |
| ![Duped More Like Cruped](/wiki-img/Duped_More_Like_Cruped.webp) | Duped? This gamepass costs 143 Robux.
    - Additionally, activating [modifiers](/wiki/modifiers) that increase the chances of entities spawning makes it even easier to get the crucifix achievement related to the entity (like *Rush Nightmare* or *Bad Luck*).
    - This gamepass also allows players to enter [The Attic](/wiki/the-attic) with a crucifix, allowing them to banish [Recal](/wiki/recal) and [Rage](/wiki/rage). However, there are no achievements related to this.
- The *crucifix* has absolutely no effect on the following entities:
    - [Hide](/wiki/hide)
    - [Haste](/wiki/haste)
    - [Void](/wiki/void)
    - [Grinner](/wiki/grinner)
    - [Halt](/wiki/halt)
    - [Hunt](/wiki/hunt) ([The Lost Floors](/wiki/the-lost-floors) only)
    - [Moonlight](/wiki/moonlight)
    - [Starlight](/wiki/starlight)
    - [Redlight](/wiki/redlight)
    - [El Goblino](/wiki/el-goblino)
    - [Jeff](/wiki/jeff)
    - [Vulture Bees](/wiki/vulture-bees)
- The *crucifix* is connected to [Moonlight](/wiki/moonlight), as when it's activated, the chains appear to be the same color as it, along with cross turning blue before it disappears.
    - At the end of [The Attic](/wiki/the-attic) is a yellow crucifix in a yellow [rift](/wiki/rift) purchasable for 100 [Rose Gold Coins](/wiki/rose-gold-coins). This rift and the yellow crucifix are connected to [Starlight](/wiki/starlight).
        - The only difference is that, when using the Curious Light Crucifix, the visual effects are yellow instead of blue and Moonlight's symbol is replaced by Starlight's symbol; Apart from that, both crucifixes function in the same way.

## References",1,"2026-11-04T18:53:17.827552+00:00","Fandom import",false,1793826017827]
